Client: Gurukhaab
Project: Choco Freestyle (single artwork)
Challenge:
The artist needed a visual identity that
wasn’t just “nice to look at” — it had to feel
like the music itself: fun, wild, and instantly
recognizable in a crowded feed.
Approach:
Built a surreal illustrated world centered
around donuts, chocolate,
and over-the-top character design.
Exaggerated facial features + cartoon
style to mirror the freestyle energy.
Custom typography for the title “Choco
Freestyle,” made gooey and vibrant to double
as a logo.
Used saturated warm tones (oranges, purples,
yellows) to make the artwork pop against
streaming platform UIs.
Outcome:
Eye-catching artwork that instantly
communicates the playful identity of the track.
Became the anchor for promotional assets:
IG teasers, YouTube thumbnail, and motion snippets.
Elevated Gurukhaab’s music presence with a
consistent, memorable visual brand.
🎨 Choco Freestyle — Art Breakdown
1. Concept & Direction
The idea was to make the cover taste like the track
sounds — fun, loud, and freestyle.
Used food as a metaphor: donuts, chocolate, and
candy to amplify the sugar-rush energy.
Caricature-style self-portrait of the artist as the
centerpiece → instantly recognizable + meme-worthy.
2. Key Visual Elements
Main Character (front face) → exaggerated smile
+ gold grill spelling “GURU,” symbolizing confidence & playfulness.
Turban & grin → instantly connect to artist’s cultural
roots while keeping the vibe modern.
Donut Pool float scene → lounging character for
comedic, laid-back energy.
Purple Donut Lady → contrasting pop element,
adds fun, quirky surrealism.
Typography → “Choco Freestyle” hand-drawn in
gooey, melted style. Feels sticky, edible, and unique.
Background → chocolate swirl texture with warm
orange tones, wrapping the whole composition into a
candyland fantasy.
3. Colors & Mood
Primary palette: Caramel orange, bright yellow,
and purple-pink.
Orange = warmth + high energy.
Yellow = fun + confidence (also reflects in turban).
Purple = playful contrast, gives depth and “sweetness.”
High saturation → matches the hip-hop / freestyle
loudness.
4. Process & Tools
Sketches: multiple exaggerated expressions for
the front character.
Illustration: vector + digital painting hybrid for
clean but bold look.
Typography: custom drawn → inspired by
chocolate drips & bubble letters.
Software used: Photoshop + Illustrator for
illustration & compositing.
Final delivery: 3000×3000px high-res JPEG/PNG
for streaming platforms + layered PSD for adaptability.
5. Design Decisions
Placed the main character face in extreme
close-up → creates instant in-your-face energy.
Used comic exaggeration → amplifies the
playful freestyle vibe.
Integrated typography into the art instead
of separate → makes cover art self-contained, logo-like.
Balanced busy details (donuts, background)
with strong focal points (face + title) to keep
hierarchy clear.
6. Results & Impact
Eye-catching artwork that matched the chaotic,
candy-coated energy of the track.
Boosted recognition across Spotify, YouTube,
Instagram.
Created a distinct “visual identity” for Gurukhaab
that fans could instantly connect with.
The artwork was repurposed into motion snippets
& teasers, expanding its life beyond just the cover.

Mind Flux
ZeroToOne x SaiderSam
For Mindflux by Saider Sam (prod. ZeroToOne), I handled the creative direction and cover design, building a cinematic, illustrated scene that reflects the track’s raw intensity. The artwork portrays the duo as central figures armed with axes, framed against a burning village and mountains to set a dark, post-apocalyptic mood. A bold gold serif title layered with handwritten strokes balances elegance with chaos, while the red-heavy palette and subtle narrative details — from bloodstains to fire — lock in the energy. The final cover blends storytelling with style, giving the release a striking, memorable identity.

Fubu
Ikka
This tribute artwork was created around the theme of Ikka’s FUBU EP, with creative direction by Illumater. The piece frames Ikka as a samurai-like warrior, standing firm with a blood-stained katana while a fiery demon looms behind him — symbolizing inner battles and raw aggression. The bold red backdrop channels intensity, while neon green typographic banners cut across the scene, adding motion and cultural grit. The mix of cinematic lighting, exaggerated character design, and textured poster finish makes the artwork both a powerful homage and a striking standalone visual.

Knok Knock
Kr$na
This poster artwork was created as a tribute to KR$NA’s track “Knock Knock,” with creative direction by Illumater. Designed in the style of a retro-Bollywood gangster poster, the piece captures multiple personas of KR$NA in one frame — from sharp suits to street visuals, holding cards, megaphones, and even rolling with a bike and horse. The heavy red backdrop and grainy textures amplify the raw, cinematic energy, while the bold 3D Hindi typography for “Knock Knock” anchors the composition at the center. The overall theme reflects confidence, versatility, and a larger-than-life presence, echoing KR$NA’s lyrical dominance through striking visual storytelling.
